nut, flying wires and wood control-line
handle.
Control line is a very basic form of model
airplanes. This makes it a great place to start
for people interested in model flight. This,
along with a very complete, easy-to-build
kit, makes this a great first model plane. The
included three-blade propeller also provides a very comfortable, consistent speed
for the beginner pilot.
UNIQUE FEATURES
The only moving control surface on the PT-
19 Control Line 36 Profile ARF is the
elevator. This comes pre-hinged with CA-style hinges in place and ready to be glued.
All you have to do is simply place a T-pin
in the center of the hinge so it can be
inserted evenly into the elevator and the
stab. Once the pieces are slid into the T-pin,
remove the T-pin and place a few drops of
thin CA on either side of the hinge to
secure it in place.
The landing gear is pre-bent piano
wire that is attached with nylon straps.
All the screw holes are pre-drilled, which
makes it very quick to get the legs on this
bird. Once the gear is in place, the foam
In the Air
You’ll need enough room for the diameter of
the circle that the plane will fly, which is
twice the length of the control lines. Add to
that a smooth enough surface for takeoff
and landing and you’ll find that the PT- 19
Control Line 36 Profile ARF can be flown
pretty much anywhere.

The control wires come pre-attached and the

The pre-made elevator pushrod is a very nice carbon

GENERAL FLIGHT PERFORMANCE
The PT- 19 Control Line 36 Profile ARF is very light for its size and flies very straight
and true. I was able to relax as the plane circled, which required very little input from
my hand to keep straight and level. With the included three-blade propeller, the plane
has plenty of power and flies at a very constant pace, which is great for aerobatics. I
performed a few of the standard control-line aerobatics, such as loops and wingovers.
The PT- 19 Control Line 36 Profile ARF takes off in about three to five feet and will
slow down for landing very well. I noticed no bad tendencies at all in my short flights. I
would recommend tuning the engine for performance and adding a washer under the
lugs to increase tension on the lines. I did neither of these things on my first flight
and barely had enough tension on the line to control the plane. I was able to get the
plane down with minimal damage. After adding the washers for my second flight, the
plane really performed well and pulled the line taut.
PILOT DEBRIEFING
Whether you have a young one in your life who is fascinated with flight, or if you’re
wondering if you still have what it takes to stand in one place and spin circles for two
to five minutes without falling down, or you’re looking for a trip down memory lane, the
PT- 19 Control Line 36 Profile ARF may be for you. With its great flight characteristics
and ease of building, you really can’t go wrong!
