FEATURES
You will immediately appreciate
the good looks of the RedLine engine
and its quality construction. The attractive
red, anodized CNC-machined cylinder
head appears to have plenty of cooling fin
area, while keeping the engine’s overall
height low. The cylinder head has the
proper shim installed for 30-percent nitro
fuel. The other feature you may notice is
the newly designed carburetor and its
method of attachment. The carb is held in
place by a bolted flange with a thermal isolator gasket. In theory, the heat insulator
should keep the carburetor at a stable temperature for a more consistent fuel-air
mixture. Cooler
air entering the engine
will increase the power output
as cool air is denser than warm air,
which allows the engine to burn more
fuel. However, there is no practical way to
test this in the field. The gasket provides a
leak-proof seal and is a superior method of
attaching the carb over the traditional
clamping method. The two-needle carb
also features a push-pull lever if the pilot
should want to use it.
Comparing the RedLine
to the Pro 50H reveals that
the bore diameters are the
same, while the RL- 53 has a
longer stroke, which gives it a
larger displacement. The engine is designed
to operate at a higher rpm and it develops
its peak horsepower at about 1,000rpm
higher than the Pro 50H. The RedLine is
also lighter than the Pro 50H and O.S.
