;e backbone of the German
Air Force in WW II, the Focke Wulf
Fw 190 was a high-performance aircraft
that fully earned its nickname of “Butcher
Bird.” Now BH Models has recreated this
fearsome fighter in a 1.20-size ARF that you
can assemble in a weekend. ;e warbird is
constructed mostly of built up balsa and ply
covered in a prepainted, plastic film that includes all of the panel lines
and markings; there’s no need to apply any graphics. ;e Focke Wulf
comes with a high-quality, painted fiberglass cowl and ABS parts,
and everything you need to finish the plane (less radio and engine) is
supplied. All pushrods, control horns, wheel collars, fuel tank, hinges,
screws, engine mount, and tail wheel are neatly packaged within
the kit. ;e one component that I was very surprised to find in the
box was retractable landing gear. ;e gear comes with all necessary
components to fit your new model with scale, retractable gear. Even
the gear doors come pre-attached to the working Oleo gear legs.
