An in-depth look at the full-scale and
RC versions of this awesome biplane!
Every generation of aviation enthusiasts
has their own superhero pilots that they set their own standards
by and aspire to be like. Several years ago, pilots like Sammy
Mason with his checkerboard Stearman and Art Scholl with his
Super Chipmunk were the top dogs of the airshow circuit. ;e
list of famous airshow pilots is long and continues to grow. Today,
one of the most talented and daring acro pilots who amazes the
crowds is Skip Stewart and his black-with-flames Prometheus
Pitts. A true “down on the deck” airshow pilot, Skip is known for
his no-holds-barred, adrenaline-pumping routines. If you haven’t
yet seen Skip and his Prometheus Pitts perform, search for his
videos on You Tube. You’ll be amazed at what Skip does with his
highly modified Pitts S2. Once you’ve seen him perform, you’ll
definitely want to have a scale RC Prometheus biplane of your
very own. We recently discovered one of the best-looking, giant-scale Prometheus biplanes out there and it is the handy work of
a very talented modeler by the name of Patric Leis of Landstuhl,
Germany. Patric was so taken aback by Skip’s show plane, that
he went about gathering all the information and contacting Skip
directly to get all the details. We caught up with Patric and this is
the backstory on his impressive giant-scale biplane.
