The giant fireworks display is the grand finale to every
IRCHA Jamboree. Team Gaui pilots fly night helis through
the bursting fireworks, so close that, this year, one heli had
to make a forced landing when the “flak” got too close.
Right, top: Indiana Air Search and Rescue were once again at IRCHA to offer
helicopter rides, this time in their 1952 vintage Bell H- 13 “Sioux.” This perfectly
maintained classic is a true museum piece.
Right, bottom: Random Heli supplies a very cool line of Skid Clamps to secure
your babies for transport. At IRCHA, company owner Ray Lepper was showing
its new T- Track system, which works in concert with your existing skid clamps
to provide adjustable mounting for whatever helis you’re hauling. Because the
tracks are extruded PVC, they can be trimmed to length and won’t mark painted
surfaces. Contact Ray at RandomHeli.com to learn more.
Below: Gaui has just released the NX- 7, a nitro-powered big brother to its NX- 4.
The NX- 7 comes as a bare kit, suitable for 720mm blades and for engines in the
1.05 to 1.20 class. This is Michael Robinson’s personal bird, and his flight demo
proved this big nitro machine is a winner.
