My only criticism is that it is a little
awkward getting the servos plugged
into the receiver because the angles
are tight. The speed control is mounted
in a compartment just above the
battery compartment and is sized for a
3-cell, 2200mAh battery. Following the
instructions, the center of gravity comes
out exactly right.
IN THE AIR
The manuals recommend that you use the
factory settings for the first flights. With
its low-slung belly, the tailwheel doesn’t
need a lot of reach. Taxiing is easy, and the
tailwheel is effective without being overly
touchy. I fly most often from pavement,
and the AS3X receiver helps correct for
torque and tail swing, which is handy for
avoiding the curbs. I advanced the throttle
slowly for a scale-like takeoff, and the
P-47D lifted off quicker than I expected.
Not even a single click of trim was needed.

With the cowl and 4-blade propeller removed, you can see the well-engineered mount used to hold the BL 15
brushless motor in place.
Both the retractable landing gear and the flaps are
functional, and the fit is perfect.
